Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English lingerie and catwalk models, and television personality. She was the runner up in Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2). In 2006, she also won series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing. She has been Britain's Next Top Model presenter since the year 2015. Clancy was born on July 7 1965, in Liverpool. She is the second of four children of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was raised in Woolton which is a suburb of Liverpool, and attended St Mary's Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High School. Clancy was a part of the girl band Genie Queen. They were managed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was one of thirteen finalist for Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model's second season in the year 2006. The contest lasted for ten weeks for an opportunity to model. Clancy was paired with Lianna Fowler for the finale runway show, and was the runner-up. After being featured on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy was a model for a variety of magazines and newspapers. Clancy posed for Arena magazine in the month of May 2007. He was featured on the cover wearing the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was selected to be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 swimsuit edition. Clancy was selected due to her closeness to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, which made it appear as though she was wearing the England shirt. Clancy wore an England shirt during Umbro's 2010 campaign, as well as other girlfriends and wives of footballers from winning countries. Clancy was seen walking with the Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011, collection. Clancy also appeared on Elite Model Management: New York division's website in March 2011. In July 2013, Clancy was a model in the campaign of London designer Hasan Hejazi. The campaign featured a fashion editorial shot by Absynth and a fashion film produced by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. In December 2013, Clancy was included in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar alongside Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy featured on the cover of British Marie Claire in July 2014, and British Elle in March 2015. Abbey Clancy and Sophia Crouch her daughter, also known as Sophia Crouch worked together with Lipsy (a London-based fashion label) for the launch of their AW'19 collection. The AW19 collection was launched by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi in January of 2020.
